Nature
At Lilan Nature, the forest is not a backdrop. It is part of the stay.
Toucans at dawn, sloths in the trees, tree frogs at dusk, and the deep call of howler monkeys in the distance. Here, nature sets the pace, quietly, constantly, beautifully.

A 15-minute walk from Lilan Nature, Cahuita National Park offers forest trails, coastal paths, wildlife encounters, and some of the most beautiful Caribbean scenery in Costa Rica.

Soft sand, warm water, coconut palms, and the precious feeling of arriving somewhere still untouched.

Cahuita National Park protects the largest coral reef on Costa Rica’s Caribbean coast. Corals, parrotfish and rays: snorkelling here is done with a certified guide, starting from the beach.
From above
A coast still wild, where the forest runs down to the sand. Along the coast, the wreck of an old ship breaks the surface of the turquoise water.
Look up. Listen closely. Howler monkeys, hummingbirds, iguanas, sloths, frogs and tropical birds share the garden with you.
Getting to the park
1.1 km, about 15 minutes. Once past the road, the path runs under huge trees where you often meet monkeys, sloths and birds.
Don’t mix them up: the Puerto Vargas entrance, further south, charges a fee. For the beach and the coastal trail, go through Cahuita.
When to come?
On the Caribbean coast, the weather does not follow the rest of Costa Rica. When the Pacific side enters its rainy season, Cahuita often enjoys its finest weeks.
Among the driest months on the Caribbean coast: calm sea, ideal for snorkelling, and few visitors.
The other bright, sunny dry spell, in the heart of high season.
Warm all year round, with tropical showers that are often short. The forest is at its greenest.
